WE ARE THE COMPANY WITH STANDARD 35, 50, and new 75 WATT, PULSING CAPABLE SYSTEMS manufactured using premium quality third generation D1S bulbs, XeVision proprietary ballasts, and metal reflectors!
XeVision is sponsoring the talented aerobatic team TeamAerostar flying three YAK-52 TW. They perform at air shows with exciting day and night performances. Their smoke system is illuminated by XeVision HID Xenon lighting systems. Watch the team in action (video).
Our HID Xenon lamps and HID Xenon lighting systems are suitable to replace your existing landing light. We offer HID conversions for existing standard lamps which are 'Plug & Play kits'.
We also have oval and rectangular designs for small spaces (wing-tip) and a retractable landing light system (under design).
Our highest quality HID Xenon lamp conversion kits are competitively priced for experimental aircraft. Nevertheless, many pilots are choosing now our XeVision HID Xenon conversion kits for their production aircraft with FAA field approvals. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott AZ, has earned a FAA fleet field approval for their certified aircraft. Diamond Aircraft has chosen our XeVision lights as standard equipment on their new production Twin Star DA42
Ambient heat generated by the HID Xenon lamps is substantially less then the standard landing lights which makes their installation in composite a/c structures feasible.
Advantages of HID over conventional landing lights:
Manufacturer's Warranty is 5 (five) years or 3000 hours (35 watt lamp, 2000 hours for 50 watt)!
Bright white-bluish (daylight) well defined light pattern
See better - be seen - safety with 3200/5300 lumens (35/50 watt)
Lower electric load - less than half the current
Lower radiant heat - 150º F versus 300º F of incandescent lamps
Altitude Limitation:
We have been working hard to establish and verify altitude characteristics, and we are able to fully warrant a safe operating altitude of 35'000 ft. ISA based on extended altitude tests in our lab.
This limitation is valid only for our XeVision HID aircraft lighting systems. HID Xenon lamps should not be turned on above 35'000 ft. ISA.
FAA approval information
Even though our XeVision landing and taxi lights are only for experimental aircraft at this time and are not approved for certified aircraft, many of our customers have successfully applied for field approvals using FAA form 337 for installation of our XeVision landing and taxi lights in various production certified aircraft.
Presently XeVision HID Xenon landing and taxi lights are for experimental aircraft only and are not approved for certified aircraft.
Successful field approvals applications using FAA form 337 include (a copy will be provided upon request):
Piper PA-44-180 fleet approval (see installation)
Piper Arrow PA-28, Bonanza M-35, Cessna C-182, Cessna C-172, Mooney M-20, Cessna C-210 L, Grumman Tiger, Cessna 195, etc.
Our patented XeVision Pulsing System using XeVision's new proprietary XeStrike ballast and our XePulse™ pulsing module allow now to reliably pulse ('wig-'wag') HID landing and taxi lights without degrading bulb life for. All of our line of HID lights can be pulsed, including 35 and 50 watt systems. Please visit also our XePulse pulsing system page for more information.
