XeVision™ HID Xenon Pulsing system XePulse™ & XeStrike™
Actual pulsing on a Glasair I RG using our XePulse pulsing module and our new XeStrike ballast controlling two of our 35 watt XV-23 HID Xenon lamps one in each wing tip. Pulsing time is 1 Hz (60 pulses per minute on each channel).

Introduction
Our new (Patent pending) HID Xenon capable pulsing system XePulse™ (XV-PCM1) is specially designed to safely and reliably drive our proprietary electronic ballast series XeStrike™ with XV1D and XV4D. If used with other brand ballasts, we cannot grant any warranty. Commonly, standard ballasts currently on the market will not maintain reliable pulsing and might prematurely burn out.

The complete system for alternating pulsing consists of:
- one XePulse™ (Patent pending) pulsing module
- two XeStrike™ XV1A ballasts
- two landing/taxi lights
- one 3 position toggle switch (not included)
- wiring & harness

Partial systems and the pulsing modules are available as well, please call.

XePulse™ Pulsing Module characteristics
Alternating or simultaneous pulsing rate ('wig-wag' rate) is preset to 1Hz (60 pulses per minute on each channel).

The XePulse™ module is capable of driving various HID loads as shown below
12/14 volt aircraft:
2 x 35 watt HID system per channel or
1 x 50 watt HID system maximum per channel.
24/28 volt aircraft:
2 x 50 watt HID system per channel maximum.

XePulse™ can be used with traditional incandescent lamps also.
14 volt systems 125 watts maximum per channel,
28 volt systems 250 watts maximum per channel.

If both channels are connected, pulsing is always alternating, otherwise simultaneous or alternating pulsing can be selected.
A low current three position toggle switch is used to select between:
off - continuous on - pulsing, no relay is required.

The pulsing module is best placed in a dry environment, one possible location is behind the instrument panel.

*) Only XeVision offers two unique ways of pulsing
With our XePulse™ module (rev. R) and our XeStrike™ ballasts, two optically different methods of pulsing (wig-wagging) are possible.

1: on/off pulsing achieves the highest contrast and visibility. This method is available with all of our XeStrike series ballasts.
2: dimming is achieved by switching our 50/30 watt DPM type ballasts (XV3D and XV4D) between the high output (50 watt) and low output (> 30 watt). This is trigered by a low power signal sent by the XePulse module to the third pin of the ballast. Visibility of this method is obviously reduced, however, the lower contrast may be pleasing for the eye in certain applications.

1: on/off pulsing - 2. dimming
