XeVision™ HID Xenon lighting components and accessories
Our highest quality XeVision HID Xenon lamp conversion kits, options, and components are competitively priced for experimental aircraft. The following standard aircraft landing lights and new installation kits are available. Presently XeVision landing and taxi lights are for experimental aircraft only and are not currently approved for certified aircraft (see 337 field approvals). All of our XeVision light systems carry a 5 year or 3000/2000 hour warranty (35/50 watt), including the bulb!
35 watt, 50 watt, 75 watt output power for D1 and D2 HID Xenon bulbs
XeVision offers an extended line of proprietary electronic ballasts for HID Xenon metal halide arc discharge bulbs. We constantly expand our product line to suit additional or different aircraft, military, and industrial installations. DC output models of our AC XeStrike™ ballast series are available on request or can be custom made.
Note:
The analog XeStrike™ ballasts XV1A and XV4A have been replaced by our new digital ballasts XV1D and XV4D The D-series ballasts are digitally controlled, allowing programmable inrush current control for different needs. Specifications similar to the analog models, however, with improved performance, safety, reliability, and lower current flow.
XeVision continues on the 'green wave'
XeVision is proud to have implemented as early as 2006 PB-free (lead free) soldering and selecting RoHS compliant components only. All our D-series ballasts as well as our XePulse II™, and XeSparQ™ are produced with eco-friendliness in mind. The current HID market, however, is built around D1 and D2 HID bulbs with Hg (Mercury) as part of the gas supporting salt mixture. With the new eco-friendly D3 and D4 Hg-free bulbs in this market, this will change in the near future.
XeVision has not wasted time to continue its 'green wave' path with the new XV6D ballast for driving the Philips XenEcoStart™ Hg-free D3S and D4S bulbs. The D3S corresponds to the common D1S bulb with the same footprint, and so does the D4S with the standard D2S. Hg-free bulbs have very different and challenging electrical requirements for the ballast design. XeVision’s first 35 watt slim-line XeStrike 'green' ballast features an SAE-type fast start-up bulb ignition suitable for any replacement of current HID systems, if 'green compliance' is demanded. This new ballast is intended for aviation, military, and industrial applications, see XV6D ballast below.

description
MQS connectors
Teflon cable
Silicon cable
Both double shielded cables are standard for all XeVision HID Xenon lighting systems. We produce the cables in custom lengths of 1, 2, 4, and 6 feet.
The shielded Teflon® or silicone cables are used between the ballast and the lamp and are pre-assembled with shielded MQS connectors and are a major factor to suppress RMI/EMI.
Both cables models are double shielded including the connectors. It is insulated by Teflon® or silcone with a tinned Copper (TC) braid shield and a Aluminum foil shield. The wires are tinned copper strand with Teflon® or LT4060 insulation featuring a different color code.
The Teflon® cable conductors are 18 AWG stranded (19x30) TC, and the silicone rubber cable conductors are 22 AWG stranded (36 x .12) TC
